DuraSurf™ is known for its tremendous durability, along with the other well known advantages of sintered base, which include speed, wax absorption and retention, impact resistance and consistency in extreme temperatures. Our proprietary manufacturing process allows us to provide a flatter, clearer, less stressed material to manufacturers, with lead times far shorter than our competitors.

DuraSurf™ has a long list of properties that make it ideal for applications in a wide range of fields. It combines the greatest impact strength of any thermoplastic, with a low coefficient of friction and tremendous abrasion resistance. It is extremely stable in temperatures ranging from 220°F, down to cryogenic lows. It is an excellent electric insulator, and is easily machined, punched, sawed, and drilled.

The low coefficient of friction, tremendous abrasion resistance, and non-absorbing nature of DuraSurf™ makes for an outstanding running surface for snowboards and skis. Its impact resistance and machinability allow for DuraSurf™ to be used as tip fill and sidewalls, and the bondability and light weight makes for a great top sheet. Similar requirements are creating new opportunities for DuraSurf™ in the wakeboard and kite board industries.

Crown Plastics Company maintains the largest inventory of UHMW materials anywhere. All materials are produced in master logs and slit to order to allow custom widths at no extra cost. Employing a separate fully staffed processing area, orders can be shipped quickly via UPS, common carrier or overnight delivery service. Material is supplied in standard roll lengths (see specifications) or cut-to-size pieces and can be shipped direct to avoid delay and extra shipping cost. On large orders, custom lengths and widths can be supplied to eliminate scrap.™

Bondable UHMW

We process and treat the UHMW so it can be bonded to a pressure sensitive, adhesive backing, which eliminates the need for mechanical fastening and reduces waste. This family of aggressive adhesives has a high initial tack for ease of application and excellent peel for long service life.

Treated for Bonding

DuraSurf™ TFB's bonding method is used where adhesive demands exceed the performance range of pressure sensitive adhesive systems due to load, substrate, climate, or temperature change. TFB is compatible with most adhesive systems designed to bond to plastic materials with adhesive selection based on substrate and application requirements.

In accordance with long-term strategies designed to place special DuraSurf™ products in specific markets, Crown Plastics has developed "A Family of Value-Based UHMW Solutions." Each solution-based product fills certain consumer or industrial needs.

DuraSurf™ ETA	Crown's standard line of Easy-To-Apply UHMW wear strips and adhesive-backed tapes. Each tape product offers great abrasion resistance, low coefficient of friction, high impact strength, and ease of installation.
DuraSurf™ ASC	Available with and without adhesive backing, Anti-Static Conductive offers protection for electronics applications and reduces static buildup in powder conveyance systems.
DuraSurf™ ASC-FDA	A variant of ASC is DuraSurf™ ASC-FDA. Offering the same properties and benefits as ASC, and also available with and without adhesive backing, ASC-FDA is designed to meet FDA, USDA and 3A-Dairy standards for direct and indirect food contact.
DuraSurf™ STS	Specially formulated for slider beds and conveyors, STS features a Silicone Treated Surface to enhance material flow and reduce package jamming. STS is also anti-static and is available with and without an adhesive liner.
DuraSurf™ UV	Engineered for outdoor environments and supplied with or without customized acrylic adhesives, DuraSurf™ UV retains superior performance properties in sunshine or rain, lasting over 10 times longer than other standard UHMW products.
DuraSurf™ BSR	Tested according to Ford, General Motors and Chrysler specifications and backed with industry-approved adhesives, BSR is specifically designed to meet the Buzz, Squeak and Rattle requirements of the automotive industry.
