The Problem

Major durable goods have many moving parts and are subject to vibration, temperature changes, and stress from frequent movement.  These environmental conditions can cause squeaks and rattles, possible condensation issues, and wear and abrasion.

The Solution

Crown Plastics’ DuraSurf™ UHMW-PE products offer high abrasion resistance, outstanding impact strength, and sound dampening benefits.  They are highly resistant to corrosive chemicals, and have extremely low moisture absorption, a very low coefficient of friction, and they are self-lubricating.

The option for pressure sensitive adhesive makes installation simple.  DuraSurf with Avery Dennison’s 1122, 2 mil acrylic satisfies temperature requirements with an operating temperature of 121 to 177 degrees Celsius.

DuraSurf thin-gauge UHMW-PE is very pliable and can easily be cut with a razor knife.  It can also be easily die cut to conform to a tight radius or configuration.
